Getting straight to the point, it’s a fairly simple search and replace tool to fix a ton of hard-typed URLs that are scattered all over the WordPress database. You’ll need to fix these when you come to move domains/subdomains/sub-directories etc.
Why they are scattered in such a horrific and obscure way is beyond my comprehension.
Of course, if you’re handy with phpMyAdmin or SQL generally, then you may even be able to do this stuff manually in your sleep – but why spend the time and energy?
